Where the Adventure Begins...
Happy Friday!
Happy Friday, families!! It's been a wonderful week back with all of our sweet littles! I feel like so many of them grew over Thanksgiving Break!
So December we have several fun activities that we want to make sure you are aware of! Our annual Multicultural Night is coming up Tuesday, December 12th from 5:30-6:30! Bring yourself, your family and your culture to the 6th Annual Multicultural Night at the ECS and go around the world in 60 minutes!! This is a great time to celebrate and share the diversity we are so proud to have in our school. There will be food, music, photo booth, fashion show and many other fun activities.
If you are interested in hosting a table, we would love to have about 4-5 more countries represented. Please email Riffat Rehman to let her know your interest and she can give you all the details! Her email is: rehmanr@friscoisd.org.
We also have our diversity parades on December 8th! I'm sure your child's teacher has already been communicating with you about this. We'd love for your child to come that day dressed in traditional garb to represent your family heritage. You are all welcome to come watch the parades. They are always such a beautiful thing to see!
Today our PPCD friends have been on the hunt for the Gingerbread Boy that ran away from their classroom! They have been looking all over the school and finding clues that tell them where to go next. I have loved them all coming to visit me as they hunt him down!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

We Want You!
We are hoping to have some parents volunteer about 20 minutes of their time to help us at our two arrival times each day. Having the extra hands to open doors and helps students out of the cars would definitely speed up our carpool lanes!
If you would consider helping us out, just click this link. It will take you to a Google Form with all the details and you can submit your interest. Thank you for considering!
Winter Break!
I Want to Hear From You!!
Many of you have posted comments, suggestions or questions on my Parent Padlet. Thank you! It is one of the ways for me to stay connected with you and allows other parents to see your questions. You never know when someone else is wondering the same thing. The cool thing is that it is completely anonymous! So post away and I will be sure to respond.

Earlier this year I shared that regardless of a child’s ability or level of intelligence, a child’s self-perception plays a significant role in a child’s success. At ECS, we have seen children with and without disabilities make amazing strides because they felt loved and supported. Having a positive attitude definitely makes a difference for a child to show progress.
Grit has the power to help children outperform others and persevere. One of our many goals is to teach children to develop grit. It helps them to think critically, work hard, and evaluate results. It’s not about being stubborn or not quitting; it’s a complex skill that involves a growth mindset. We teach our children to be goal oriented, to persist, and reflect on the results. We have them consider the consequence of quitting—sometimes it is a necessary option. Part of the process is to reflect on the end result. We want our students to explore freely and discover what they enjoy so they can achieve academic, emotional, and physical growth.
