Art students paint bowls to help Brazos Valley Food Bank
The students have been working for months crafting bowls that will be used to raise money for the Brazos Valley Food Bank. The bowls have been donated to the Arts Council of the Brazos Valley and will be sold for $10 during Saturday's Empty Bowls Jr. event. Purchased bowls will be filled with a meal of soup and bread provided by local restaurants.
Consol blood drive to benefit firefighters
A&M Consolidated High School's annual blood drive is being held Wednesday and Thursday in honor of local firefighters. Blood collected during the drive, which will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the A&M Consolidated High School auditorium both days, will remain in the community and will be dedicated to the Bryan Fire Department.
People wishing to donate can register at www.redcrossblood.org and enter the sponsor code "tiger." Registered donors will be asked to sign in at the high school front office with a photo ID when they arrive to donate. The drive is sponsored by the high school's Health Occupations Students of America and the American Red Cross.
Lady Tiger Soccer
A&M Consolidated's girls soccer team remained undefeated in District 14-5A with a 3-0 win over Conroe Friday. Ally Fowler scored twice and Maddie Wilke once for Consol (3-0-3). Clare McDougall was in goal for the shutout. The JV won 3-0 behind goals from Caroline Rudd, Julia Edrington and Sydney Jeter. The Lady Tigers host Lufkin next Friday.
Tiger Gymnastics
The A&M Consolidated Gymnastics team had a meet yesterday at Alvin High School. The Consol boys placed 2nd as a team. Individual results are as follows. Consol Boys: Ben Guzman: 1st FX (floor), 2nd PH (pommel horse), 2nd R (Rings), 6th V (vault), 2nd PB (parallel bars), 1st HB (high bar), 2nd AA (All Around) Devon Harris: 10th PH, 10th R Boyce Unger: 10th FX, 8th R, 8th PB, 9th HB, 9th AA Connor Griffin: 8th FX, 6th R, 6th PB, 8th HB, 8th AA Consol Girls: Maggie Drummond: 2nd V (vault), 4th Bars (UB), 2nd Beam (BB), 5th FX (floor), 3rd AA (All Around) Kayla Townsend: 8th BB, 9th FX
Consol sending two to state swim meet
A&M Consolidated swimmers Cody Green and Teresa de Figueiredo earned places among the sweet 16 swimmers in their events to qualify for the UIL State Swimming and Diving Championships. The next step is to get into the elite eight
Tiger Baseball
CYPRESS -- The A&M Consolidated baseball team fell to Cy Ranch 3-1 before defeating Cy Ridge 9-1 Saturday in the Cy Fair ISD tournament. Tyler Sanchez (0-1) took the loss against Ranch, adding a double at the plate. Keagan Brooks was 2 for 2 with a walk and an RBI. Against Ridge, Adam Wenck (1-0) earned the win. Gabe Sager had two walks, scored a run and drove in a run for Consol. Brooks had an RBI double and also scored.

Lady Tiger Track
HOUSTON -- The A&M Consolidated girls track team scored 170 points Friday in winning the team title at the North Shore Relays. Tori Carraway took first place in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.35 seconds, while Kacey Kerr won the pole vault by clearing 11 feet. Individuals finishing in second place for Consol were Carraway in the triple jump (34-9 1/2), Kacey Cermin in the shot put (35-5 1/2), Maggie Drummond on the pole vault (9-6), Qiona Payton in the 100 hurdles (17.22), Emily Caruso in the 300 hurdles (48.97), Jazz Harris in the 200 (26.47) and Montana Caler in the 1,600 (5:55.00).
