The New WI Science Standards
Session 3: Learning Targets and Assessments

In the final workshop of the STEM Curriculum Series, K-12 teachers and leaders will explore the elements of a WSS/NGSS based assessment. Participants will learn how to integrate the three dimensions of WSS: science and engineering practices, cross-cutting concepts, and core ideas. Additional topics will include: learning targets, rubrics, and standards based grading.
Learning Outcomes will be:
- Explore and understand elements of NGSS/WSS based assessments.
- Revise and/ore create initial elements of three dimensional science assessments.
- Develop learning targets for an assessment.
- Discuss how rubrics support assessments/standards based grading.
This workshop is offered at no additional cost to those districts participating in School Improvement (LS1) or College and Career Readiness (LS2) including Abbotsford, Altoona, Augusta, Bloomer, Bruce, Cadott, Chippewa Falls, Colby, Eleva-Strum, Flambeau, Gilman, Gilmanton, Granton, Greenwood, Ladysmith, Lake Holcombe, Loyal, Mondovi, Neillsville, New Auburn, Osseo-Fairchild, Owen-Withee, Regis Catholic Schools, and Spencer. (Discount will be automatically applied.)
The cost for all other participants will be $500 per workshop.
