Holiday travel and gathering recommendations from Kaiser Permanente
COVID-19 continues to spread throughout the country at an alarming rate and pose a significant threat to community health. Kaiser Permanente’s infectious disease experts and clinicians ask that people stay home for the holidays — no traveling and no gathering — in order to best protect themselves and those they love from COVID-19.
Kaiser encourages you to check out these two new articles, Stay Home for the Holidays and Celebrate Safely at Home This Holiday Season, to understand the risks and considerations as we make our plans for the holidays. Each article provides helpful information from physicians and clinicians at Kaiser Permanente on the importance of staying home, suggestions on starting new holiday traditions with family and friends virtually, and precautions to take if travel is absolutely necessary.
Please also see the guidance documents on gatherings and holiday travel below.

Nightmare on Puberty Street a program brought to you by Kaiser Permanente
Black Diamond Student have been invited to attend a special virtual presentation of "Nightmare on Puberty St." a program brought to us by Kaiser Permanente.
The program will be held on February 19th, 2021.
Nightmare on Puberty St. is an age-appropriate, live theatrical performance, about four young people on their journey through adolescence. As the characters wrestle with the question, "Am I normal?" they learn to cope with the changes affecting their bodies and minds. The frank and sometimes funny program shows students how to cope with many of the issues of puberty, including how to handle pressure to be sexually active, how to build self-esteem, and where to find help if faced with feelings of depression or throughs of suicide.
**Parents**
Nightmare on Puberty St. contains sexual health information. Please see program below.
Thank you St. John's Lutheran Church!
Our 7th grade Science teacher, Ms. Kratina submitted an application for a grant from St. John's Lutheran Church mission fund and she was awarded $2,500. Congratulations Ms. Kratina! She applied for the funds to provide additional lab materials for science classes and to provide additional digital resources for instruction during Distance Learning. Some of the funds will be used to provide whiteboard technology for teachers in an English, Math, History, Science and Special Ed classroom.
We want to thank St. John for providing this opportunity to enhance learning at Black Diamond! We are fortunate to have community partners like you and are always there to support our students on their learning journey.
