SMSOZ ELM OCTOBER 2022 NEWSLETTER
KNOWING & LOVING JESUS IN THE EUCHARIST
NOTE FROM THE DRE
Good Afternoon Elementary Families!
Fall has arrived and God's beauty surrounds us. The children seem to be settling into classes and the year is off to a great start. Thanks to all families and catechists who joined us for the Family Mass and potluck! If you weren't able to attend, hopefully you can attend our next family event "Praying with Nature" on October 16th. Details in the events section below.
In this newsletter, you will find some housekeeping reminders, service opportunities for everyone, a variety of upcoming events from both local and surrounding parishes, and the Eucharistic Revival video that we talked about in the parent meeting.
Lastly, I just want you to come to adoration. Sign up for a slot, if you are willing. Jesus will be exposed for 40 hours and someone needs to sit with him each minute in order for this to happen. It is a great way to take time away from the busyness, even if it is just 15 minutes with your children, and join your community in adoration with Jesus.
Autumn Blessings, Lesa Staehler, DRE
Some parents asked to see a monstrance so I captured this picture over the weekend. The high school youth participated in adoration at St. John Bosco Youth day and as you can see Jesus was brought up right next to some of them! It was a beautiful holy hour at Holy Hill.
HOUSEKEEPING REMINDERS
RELIGIOUS ED & SACRAMENTAL FEES
Thanks to all families who have turned in their fees. If you haven't paid your religious education fees, please do so. Checks can be written to St. Mary's. Please put religious education fees in the memo. Also reminder that Sacramental fees are a separated fee. If you are experiencing financial hardship, then please reach out to me privately.
Word of Life
Children have completed lessons 1 and 2 in class and should continue to review these lessons as well as their prayers. They also received a saint quilt square and we encouraged them to make the square colorful. These are due October 24th. If your child was absent for a lesson, please complete the workbook pages in their binder or online lesson. Parents please be sure to set up your access as lesson 4 will be an at home lesson. Also, there are many resources for you to help reinforce our Catholic teachings at home.
MONTHLY FOOD DRIVE
All food collected will be divided and sent to both local pantries (Oakfield and Lomira)
