Happy Holidays Panther Families-

As we enter the holiday season, I want to share how thankful I am for our fantastic students, supportive families and community, and my amazing staff! I am incredibly proud of what is happening here on campus and the growth that our students are making daily! Please remember to keep doing what you're doing and encourage your child to put forth their best efforts as we head into the second half of the school year.

Lost and found: Please remember to check our fast growing lost and found before winter break! We have lots of jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles, etc. Any leftover items will be donated during the break.

Holiday schedule: Just a reminder that we will be closed for winter break beginning December 19th. Our first day back to school will be January 3rd.

Electives: Elective choices for second semester will go out to students via email after school on Monday, December 12th. This will be done via Google Form and will be first come first serve. Please remind your child to check their email that week! Choice selection will close before the new year. Students will find out their electives on Friday, January 20th.

Attendance: Please remember that when your child is out of school they miss instruction. We know that it is cold and flu season, and we appreciate it when you keep your child home when they have a fever and bad cough. Please remember that after 12 excused absences, your child will need a doctor's note to be marked excused.

Just a reminder, please stay connected for up to date information. Find us on social media (Facebook and Instagram) for updates regularly. Also, feel free to browse our website for more detailed information. As always, please call the office anytime with questions or concerns. We're here for you and want to help!

Sincerely,

Shawna Whitestine

Help Support Student Council in Giving Back!

Twin Hills Student Council is teaming up with a Twin Hills family that wants to ring in the holiday by giving back to our community. They found an establishment, Sam Jones Hall in Santa Rosa, that helps our unhoused community by asking what the number one thing they needed this holiday season, the answer; new bath size towels.

Please bring any new bath towels to the office. Students will receive advisory points for their class.

So starting Monday, December 5th we are collecting new bath size towels here in the office. Help us help our community!

The season of giving is HERE and we appreciate your support.

Winter Coat Drive Sponsored by Interact Club

Our fantastic Interact Club will be holding a new and gently used coat drive. It starts Dec. 1st and will run through Dec. 15th. Collection boxes will be located in office. Help support our neighbors in need and our Interact Cub!

News from Our Counselor: New Club on Campus

I am very excited about our new QSA club on campus which is open to any student who identifies as LGTBQIA+ or as an Ally. QSA stands for Queer Straight Alliance. This club’s purpose is to promote a sense of belonging and connection and to support understanding on campus. Why is this club important? In a 2019 survey done by the Trevor Project, 39% of LGBTQ youth seriously considered attempting suicide in the past twelve months, with more than half of transgender and non-binary youth having seriously considered. Trans and nonbinary youth whose pronouns were honored by people in their lives attempted suicide at half the rate of those whose pronouns were not respected. (Trevor Project) Clubs like this allow for students to feel seen, supported and valued which leads to a healthier, happier life - what more could we ask for?

Warmly,

Ms. Hales
