The North Central Plains region is mostly rural grasslands and small towns with a few large cities. Most of this prairie land is thick grasses. There is also a cross timbers area full of hardwood trees. Farming is common here because of the fertile soil. So there are many kinds of crops grown in this region. There also commonly short prairie grass.

Landforms in the Central Plains region of Texas is part of a larger Central Plains region of North America. It is made up of 3 separate areas. They are the Grand Prairie, the Cross Timbers, and the Rolling Plains. Each of these areas has a different type of landform, and they include prairies, forests, and plains.
Weather
Climate in the region/area can be extreme. In the winters its cold, but in the summer it can be the hottest area in Texas. The average rainfall is 20 - 30 inches a year and during the spring there can be violent storms and tornadoes.

Fort Worth- Fort Worth is the 16th-largest city in the United States of America and the fifth-largest city in the state of Texas
Wichita Falls- Wichita Falls is home to the Newby-McMahon Building, constructed downtown in 1919 and since known as the "worlds little skyscraper".
Abilene- Abilene is a city in Taylor and Jones counties in west central Texas.
Attractions
Paul Duro Canyon- It is a state park that encompasses more than 20,000 acres near Amarillo. It is home to many rare animals.
Joyland Amusement Park- This amusement park is located within the Mackenzie Park Recreation Area and has more than 30 rides and attractions.
Law Enforcement Museum- This museum in Eastland is located within the Eastland County Jail built in 1897. It was once home to the "Santa Claus Bank Robber".
Culture
Culture in the north central plains is very similar to other regions in Texas but has a few minor differences that set it apart from the rest of the regions. The majority of people in the region celebrate national holidays like Labor Day.
Another thing that shows the culture of the north central plains is the food. The food is like smoked brisket, as ranching is a main industry. Clothing is very loose and thin as the climate is scorching.

Ranching- It is a large industry in the Central Plains region. People commonly raise and sell Texas longhorn cattle, and angora goats. Agriculture- It also makes up a large portion of this region's economy. The vast grasslands full of thick grasses and rich soil make this region perfect for farming and grazing.
Oil and Natural Gas-There aren't tons of large cities in the Central Plains, so there is a lot of rural land for digging for and oil and natural gas drilling.
