Week 4 ng Homework Packet
Focus: ng sound & capital letter formation
Homework Guidelines
- Use a pencil if possible please
- Keep at home and return on Friday
- Please encourage your child to do the work on their own so I can see what they can do independently
- Students should write their own name on each page
Weekly Schedule
The suggestion of what to do each day on the cover page is a suggestion. Please do the pages as you need to to accommodate your schedule at home. I do ask that you please try to fit in reading every single night, 7 days a week. This will be a huge factor in your child's reading success this year.
Spelling word practice
Please have your child practice spelling the spelling words each night. Here are some suggestions in addition to writing the words:
- make flash cards
- create sentences using the words
- Rainbow words (write each word with multiple colors tracing over each letter)
- dry erase boards
- create a matching game with 2 sets of spelling word flash cards

Many, many THANKS!

School Communication Preference
Tell us if you would prefer to get information from the office electronically or in paper form.
Home and School Reading Agreement
This is to benefit our students. We read it together and talk about how teachers, parents and ESPECIALLY students have jobs when it comes to learning to be the best reader you can be. This form is a contract that describes what we can all do to help children become excellent readers.
Scholastic Book Orders
Thank you for the book orders. Your kids are so excited! Look for the books coming home in the next couple of weeks.
Songs & Games
This is a familiar song from kindergarten featuring the /ng/ sound. Encourage your child to sing along and teach you the song: https://goo.gl/vNrDuM
We are working on addition and making combination of 10. The Save the Whale game asks your child to complete the water pipe to raise the water level helping the whale into the ocean. Your child must figure out what they need to add to the given number to make 10. http://goo.gl/s8Xj
