It's Been Awhile
A million years ago, or so it seems now that I have Miss B in my classroom, I was graduating from a tiny private women's college outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. For three glorious years, one of them was spent in the Russian tundra, I got to enjoy the amazing beauty of an east coast fall. Friends, this weekend, I got to relive that feeling, and I hope you were out there enjoying it as well. Oh...and praise be...my Hogs finally won a conference game. WooPigSooie....On to the recap....

Our Week In Math
Our Week In Science
A special shout out to Kelly Miller for working with Mrs. Kirn during enrichment time. She was a very brave woman, and it was much appreciated.
Our Week In Reading
Our Week In Social Studies
Yay for Native Americans! This week our studies of Texas spanned 11,500 years. We started from the first people in Texas circa 9,500BC, to Archaic Indians, and on to Prehistoric Indians. The last group includes the tribes most of us are familiar with: Karankawa, Caddo, and the Coahuiltecans. Take a second to ask your child some of the gross facts we learned about these tribes and what a coprolite is. (Have I mentioned how much I love my job?)
Our Week In Word Work
Our Week In Writing
This week, we begin consuming feature articles. Our goal will be to use these mentor texts to eventually produce our own articles. I know that Caroline, Meilani, John, Sophia, and Jake have a jump on this through their involvement with the amazing Pony Chronicle.
