We would like to send out our gratitude to all of our Davis Richmond parents and sponsors for helping make the 80’s adult night fundraiser a huge success. A huge thank you to Nikki Copher and Sarah Mowat for all their hard work and dedication. We raised over $6K for our students to go pay for field trips and activities. Wednesday, February 14th, we will celebrate our Davis friendships by hosting classroom Valentines Parties. Room parents may proceed to the classrooms for preparation at 1:30 p.m. Parties will take place from 1:45 – 2:35 p.m. We look forward to a “Red, White, and Pink” kind of day!

We have identified our Second Semester 2nd Grade Health and Wellness Team at Davis Primary. They will be working with Mrs. Mattson and Mr. Sterkel to support healthy lifestyles in our school, as well as, to set up our PE and Recess Equipment.

Our students will enjoy a second week of enrichment activities on Tuesday from 3:00 - 4:00. Thank you to all parents who have volunteered to assist with these activities.

This year, Richmond will be holding Valentine’s Day parties. The party schedule is as follows:

1:45 p.m. Room parents arrive and begin party preparation

2:00 p.m. Parties commence

2:45 p.m. Clean up begins

Positive peer relationships have a direct positive effect on a successful school experience for students. Our goal at Richmond is to help our students create and maintain positive relationships. Throughout the month of February, teachers will engage in and facilitate activities to help students build or continue to strengthen positive peer relationships.

Fifth grade Richmond classes will be attending a growth and development presentation on Friday, February 21. This presentation includes a short video followed by a brief discussion and time for questions and answers. Boys and girls programs are similar in content but will be presented and facilitated separately by your building school nurse. A letter will be sent to 5th grade parents with more details via their classroom e-news. A website will be provided where you can preview the videos and materials. As a parent, you have the right to request that your child not participate in this presentation. If after previewing the information you would prefer your child not participate, please let us know in writing by February 18, 2020.
