Conversation Starters
* How do you play the card game "Go Friends"?
* Sing the Baby Beluga song!
* What is "Kind Words and Actions"?
Higlights of the week.
* This week we learned a song about baby Belugas!
* We acknowledged the 10th day of school. We talked about some of the ways that 10 is an important number. We read a book called "Ten Black Dots" and then used our imaginations to create something using 10 black dots (see Friday's backpacks).
* We read the classic tale "The Rainbow Fish" which beautifully weaves together the themes of inclusion, sea life and individuality.
* All writing implements (pencils, markers, crayons) in our classroom are small. This encourages kids to use the correct grip. Good thing cause we have just begun our Kindergarten handwriting workbooks. The children were excited and there was lots of chatter about feeling like big school kids.
Important Reminder
1. Parents! If you have not already done so, please send a change to clothes to school with your child. The clothes should be labeled with your child's name and placed in a ziploc bag. Also, please send In a pair of shoes for your child to wear indoors. These shoes will stay at school. Thank you!
2. We are looking forward to seeing you all at Back-To-School night on Thursday 9/27 at 6:30!
3. Kindergarten is performing the legendary "Left - Right" song at the morning meeting on Friday 10/5.
Poem of the week: "Names"
Everybody
Has a name
Some are different
Some are the same.
Some are short
Some are long
All are right
None are wrong.
I like my name
It's special to me
It's exactly who I
I want to be!
