Macbeth doesn’t want to let fate take its course, and wants to kill King Duncan. “ No man’s a jester playing Shakespeare.” “The crown that you once wore”, mean that the king is already dead, “Awake, awake! Ring the alarum bell.-Murder and treason!” When the song says “ Everybody’s kingdom must end and i’m so afraid your courtiers cannot be called best friends.” It basically is talking about betrayed. We all know that Macbeth had something to do with the murder instead of letting King Duncan die naturally, “Present fears are less than horrible imaginings.” Macbeth wasn’t the only person that betrayed him, because most people in the story, don’t go against Macbeth. Therefor, it makes them betradors to the kingdom as well. Not only did Macbeth not let fate take its course “ If chance will have me king, why, chance may crown me,” he also fell into temptation that his wife brought upon him. Lady Macbeth was a big reason why Macbeth actually went through with the assassination. “I am settled and bend up Each corporal agent to this terrible feat. Away, and mock the time with fairest show. False face must hide what the false heart doth know.” Maybe Macbeth would have been king of Scotland, without messing with fate, but just knowing that you are going to be something. You try to do something about it, and we all know that life happen along the way, and it doesn’t turn out the way we want. “ The king is dead, the king is dead,” I believe that this part of the song isn’t talking about the murdered king, but talking about the trader that is now the king. Someone that was once really close to the king betrayed him and is now dead, by heart. “Long Live the King,” is a way of mocking the new King.

Taylor swift song Bad blood reflects on Banquo and Macbeth because it has similarities on how Macbeth betrayed Banquo. Banquo is perhaps a foil to macbeth, he tends to underline Macbeth’s reactions by his own. At the beginning he is bracketed with Macbeth as a brave and valiant soldier. He is present when the witches make their predictions and he, too, promised something. IT is his reaction to the witches that highlights Macbeth’s own reaction. When Ross hail Macbeth, Thane of Cawder. Banquo shows that he has recognised the Witches as evil, “what can the devil speak true?” He also warns Macbeth. “And oftentimes, to win us to our harm, the instruments of darkness tell us truths….” Macbeth on the other hand, plays with the predictions and seems at first to be obsessed by them and becomes “rapt”.
Later, however we realize that Banquo is indeed torn by temptation, “... merciful powers restrain me in the cursed thoughts that nature gives ways to in repose” but his evil thoughts occur in dreams: Macbeth’s are waking thoughts. Banquo frankly admits to dreaming of the witches: Macbeth says untruthfully, “ I think not of them”. In the beginning , Lady Macbeth is the voice of the plot to kill King Duncan.Her soul ached for what was to come in the future so bad , that she could not wait.She makes it her duty to convince Macbeth to kill King Duncan.She even prays that her womanly emotions be taken from her. For example,Lady Macbeth states “ Come to my woman’s breasts,And take my milk for gall.”Furthermore, she goes on to say “Come you spirits , that tend on mortal thoughts,unsex me here and fill me from the crown to the toe top-full of direst cruelty.”Showing that she wanted to act as if a man would.Unbinded from her womanly essentials.Yet , throughout the play Lady Macbeth begins to have remorse that she once before prayed be taken from her.
In the song Mirrors by Jhene Aiko it is describing the self-conflict with one’s self. This song co-insides with the emotions and guilt that Lady Macbeth begins to feel.For example, this line in Jhene Aiko’s song “Can’t be regretting all that you’ve done , And have undone.”is describing how a person shouldn’t regret what they have done and tried to undo ;Just as in the play when Lady Macbeth says “What’s done cannot be undone.To bed,to bed.”In addition, the song says “Your face in broken pieces, don’t look down, don’t look down.” While, in the play Lady Macbeth says, “Look not so pale”. Both describing how broken and remorseful one is feeling within.
Throughout the story we see Lady Macbeth first come off as strong ,confident,and ambitious for her and her husband Macbeth.First by pushing Macbeth to kill King Duncan and then by telling him to keep it together after. Then in Act 5 scene 1 we see Lady Macbeth begin to break and actually hit the brink of insanity.In a play full of greed power and ambition one’s bound to fall of the street of reality.

This song best fits Macbeth because he was a very ambitious and a very deceiving character throughout the story and the lyrics tell you about how he really got to where he was, by betraying others and telling lies. In the play “Macbeth”, the capacity to betray based on greed and ambition is a central theme in the work, so quotes on this subject are plentiful, here are a few. Macbeth considers killing the king, the ultimate form of betrayal, after the witches prophecies begin to come true. He admits this desire when he says, “Why do I yield to that suggestion Whose horrid image doth unfix my hair And make my seated heart knock at my ribs, Against the use of nature”(I, iii)? The offspring song exemplifies Macbeth's desire by stating “ Slowly out of line And drifting closer in your sights So play it out I'm wide awake It's a scene about me There's something in your way And now someone is gonna pay And if you can't get what you want Well it's all because of me”
Macbeth realizes that in order to keep the secret that he killed King Duncan, he must lie through his teeth. Throughout the play macbeth uses secrets, lies, and betrayal to access desperation to keep the crown on his head. In act 1 scene 5 lady macbeth tells Macbeth to “ our face, my thane, is as a book where men May read strange matters. To beguile the time, Look like the time. Bear welcome in your eye, Your hand, your tongue. Look like th' innocent flower, But be the serpent under ’t.” Similarly, The Offspring song references deceit by stating, “ With a thousand lies And a good disguise Hit 'em right between the eyes Hit 'em right between the eyes When you walk away Nothing more to say See the lightning in your eyes See 'em running for their lives.” In both cases it is the man in the song portrays the exact qualities that perfectly characterizes Macbeth.
If you take it into context the title of You're Gonna Go Far is because it's about a youth who did turn to violence, just like Macbeth. But because he was so good at deceiving people he joined the mafia as a hitman but in turn deceived them and took them out, which is the trust deceived line. This song portrays the perfect characterization of Macbeth, just like the kid in the song Macbeth manipulated and lied to get to the ultimate task the crown, then after he got the crown the killing, lying and manipulation did not stop there, his thirst for complete power was insatiable. In Act 3, Scene 4 Macbeth quotes, “ For mine own good, All causes shall give way. I am in blood Stepped in so far that, should I wade no more, Returning were as tedious as go o'er.” Similarly, The Offsprings Song references unfinished business by stating,“ Slowly out of line And drifting closer in your sights So play it out I'm wide awake It's a scene about me There's something in your way And now someone is gonna pay And if you can't get what you want Well it's all because of me.”
