First Trimester (Months 1-3 )
Mom-
Thier is much going on in the first few months . Her health care provider will count ahead 40 weeks from start of last period. Mom is not actually pregnant the first week or two. After 7 weeks your baby face and brain begin to form. Conception occurs about two weeks after last period begins.
Baby-
baby has 46 chromosomes . 23 from mom and 23 from dad. egg travels down the fallopian toward the uterus. cells divide rapily to form cluster of cells resembling a rasberry.the placenta nourishes the baby.week 5 baby is likely about the size of the tip of a pen. week 11 gentials begin to form.
Second Trimester (Months 4-6 )
Mom-
the uterus is above the pubic bone, may be enough to push the belly out . ultrasound you may catch baby sucking his thumb. have gained about 5 pounds in 15 weeks. Breast may feel less tender. May have hormonal changes in 15 weeks. Partner may feel a little stressed out. May lose your baby hiccups.
Baby-
14 weeks can't squint , frown , grimace , pee. From head to bottom baby measures 3 1/2 inches, about the size of a lemon. Moving aminiotic fluid through the nose . Baby is about 2 pounds. Baby can open and close eyes.
Third trimester (Months 7-9)
May gain 11 pounds. Have to visit the doctor every 2 weeks. May get creepy crawlies in legs. Stay away from caffine . Stretch and massage legs. Muscles in uterus tighten now and then. Contractions are frequent call practitioner. May premilk from breasts. Uterus reaches into the rib cage . Possibly gastro intestnial distress. See practitioner every week..
Baby-
Week 28 baby weighs 2 1/4 pound. Baby may mone and kick. Average newborn is 7 1/2 pounds. 35 weeks all organs are developed. 28 weeks the head is getting bigger. Very active. Baby more demanding for food. Lungs and muscle are continuing to mature.
