Dear Cirby Families,
As we approach the Thanksgiving break, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for our wonderful school community. It is with a full heart of appreciation that I reflect on just a few achievements that have defined our 2023-2024 school year to this point.
First, I want to say a big THANK YOU to staff and families who have gotten their students to school. Attendance is a focus for us this year and I'm so happy to share that we have greatly improved our attendance rate from this time last year to today. We are on the right trajectory so let's keep it going! When kids miss school, they miss out.
Secondly, we had a very successful Red Ribbon Week and saw many of our students dressed up for our spirit days.
Next, we've held successful English Language Acquisition Committee (ELAC) and School Site Council (SSC) meetings with great participation from staff and families.
Also, our PTC held our Jog A Thon which proved to be an amazing fundraiser for Cirby! A big thank you goes out to staff and families who volunteered and made it such a huge success.
In addition, we were lucky enough to be chosen by Bayside Church as a recipient of their Service Day last month. They freshened up our playground with paint, numbers, and a new U.S. map! They also planted some flowers and bushes in our planter boxes to help improve the aethstetics of our campus.
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the things we are grateful for. I am thankful for our dedicated staff, supportive parents, and more importantly, our incredible students. Together, we create a nurturing and thriving educational environment.
The Thanksgiving break will start on Monday, November 20th and end on Friday, November 24th. I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable holiday. Please take this time to rest, recharge, and spend quality time with loved ones.
Warmly,
Farah Friend | Principal
