From the Principal's Desk
As the year winds down, we have some special events in the week ahead. Next week each grade level will have Fun Day, which will be part of the day that each grade level will participate in fun games lead and organized by Ms. Semeneck our PE teacher. Grades 1,2, and 3 will have theirs on Wed. May 19, and Grades 4 and 5 will have it on Friday, May 21st. In addition, every class will eat outside the final week of school, students will select a hamburger or hotdog from our foodservice and eat outside in picnic fashion. This will be either on May 26th or May 27th depending on the grade level.
Next Friday, our school will welcome back our graduating seniors, students who attended Lincoln will walk the halls one final time before exiting D303 and heading on to the next chapter of their lives. Lincoln students will line the halls Friday, May 21st at 9:00 and applaud the seniors on their accomplishments!
As the year winds down and we are reflecting on all the learning that took place this year, I wanted to share that our district offers a summer camp opportunity. This is a wonderful way to continue the routine of school, engaging activities including reading and other skills to ensure our students continue to learn and grow. The flyers have been sent home in backpacks today, but the information is also below, the deadline for registration is next Friday, if interested please register. There may be opportunities for fee support, please email me if you have questions. michelle.woodring@d303.org

JOIN THE ORCHESTRA!
JOIN THE ORCHESTRA!
All students entering 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade next fall are welcome to participate in the elementary string program. Our goal is to provide meaningful learning experiences in music and develop individual student achievement and appreciation of music. The elementary instrumental music program also provides excellent preparation for the middle school and high school bands and orchestras.
There are four string instruments for students to choose from. Click on these links to learn more about each instrument.
Orchestra Parent Information Virtual Meeting
If you are interested in enrolling your child in orchestra for the 2021-2022 school year, please attend one of our Orchestra New Parent (Virtual) Information Meetings. You will hear more about our D303 Orchestra program, and have a chance to ask any questions you may have. For your convenience, one of the D303 preferred instrument rental vendors will be at each meeting to assist you with renting an instrument. At the end of the presentation, there will be breakout rooms so that we can meet and I can answer any questions specific to Munhall or Lincoln School. Both meetings are identical. Choose the one that works best for you!
Can’t attend either night? The meeting will be recorded and available for viewing at your convenience.

BAND UPDATE from Mrs. Rice
Fourth Grade Families- Now is the time to enroll your child in band!
In order to help me plan for the 2021-2022 school year, please try to enroll your child in the band by Wednesday, May 26th.
We do accept summer and fall sign-ups, but enrolling before this school year ends ensures that your child will have a spot in our summer camp, and a rental instrument lined up for them. If you sign up now but then realize over the summer that your child can not commit to the band, just email me- we will be able to take your child off the band list.
