5th Grade Band News
Now that the first few weeks of band are behind us we are looking forward to next semester and all of the new skills students will learn! In order to plan accordingly, we need to know our exact numbers moving forward. Due to its unique nature, band is a year-long class. This year has certainly been different and we are navigating those challenges, so this will be the final opportunity for students to join or drop band until 6th grade. We can’t have students come and go as it disrupts the learning process and the scheduling. Students (and families) should consider if band is something they are committed to for the remainder of the school year. Once that commitment is made, band is an incredibly rewarding experience and I am so excited to see what we will accomplish together next semester.
Any students not continuing band need to notify Mrs. Keck via email or a note brought into school by Friday, December 18th. Also, if there are any students who missed the initial sign up and would like to join band- please reach out to Mrs. Keck via email or a note by the same date, Friday, December 18th so that we can have that student on the schedule at the beginning of the second semester. Of course if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Keck!

- temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher
- sore throat
- an uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing
- the onset of a severe headache
- diarrhea and/or vomiting
- unusual belly pain

IMPORTANT: Based on Board policies and written guidance from local, state and federal health officials, in order for your child to return to school after experiencing one or more of the above symptoms a parent/guardian must provide a negative COVID-19 test result or a doctor’s note releasing the student to attend school. If you do not provide a negative COVID-19 test result or doctor’s note, then your student will be excluded from Coloma Community Schools for ten (10) days from the first day they had symptoms. They must also be fever free for 24 hours and/or their symptoms have improved after the ten (10) day exclusion period before they can return.
