CES Community,
As we bid farewell to 2023, it's incredible to reflect on the wonderful moments we've shared throughout the school year. Anticipation is building for what lies ahead in 2024! Recognizing the diversity within our community, we understand that this is a season of various celebrations. Rest assured, as a school, we respect and honor the individual beliefs of our students. Our teachers are committed to ensuring that no activities infringe upon the uniqueness of each families beliefs.
While we appreciate the generous spirit of families wanting to share edible treats during this festive time, we kindly request that, as a precaution, only non-edible treats be considered for donations to our students.
Exciting news awaits as CES is set to host its inaugural honor roll assembly for grades 3 - 5. This special event will encompass achievements from the first and second quarters. Keep an eye out for the Honor Roll Assembly date in January.
Wishing you all a joyous holiday season and looking forward to the promising moments that 2024 will bring to our CES community.

Academic Support at home for your Child!
As we enter the second marking period, Baltimore County Public Schools have already started planning for summer learning in 2024. As we work to increase achievement for all students by providing a variety of pathways to prepare students for college and careers, students who require additional learning at the end of the 2023-2024 school year will need to attend a summer program to help them be successful in the next grade level. Additional information about summer program offerings will be shared with students and families throughout the school year.
Below is a list of resources and supports that you and your student should consider accessing throughout the next three marking periods in order to maximize academic success in the 2023-2024 school year.
Set up daily or weekly “Parent Digest” notifications from Schoology to monitor your student’s activity in each class. Directions for setting up notifications can be found here.

From Nurse Turner
Do you need help adding fruits and vegetables into your child’s diet? Here are a few ideas....
Children love to be included.
Let them help in the kitchen make their dinner or even pack their lunch. When they know that they help create it they are proud and more likely to eat it.
Add Vegetables to their favorite foods
Even if all your child wants to eat is Macaroni and cheese and Pizza. You can simply help make this healthier by adding vegetables to it such as broccoli in the macaroni or on top of the pizza. Make it fun and let them come up with a crazy name for it when it includes the vegetables such as polka dot Mac & Cheese.
Make sure vegetables and fruit are offered at every meal.
Make them front and center on the plate. Tip: Encourage family members to take a larger portion of vegetables and smaller of everything else.
Do you have children’s clothes laying around that no longer fit? Please consider donating them to the nurse’s office. We are calling home often due to students not having back-up clothes and none to loan out if the Nurse’s office.
