An Update On Chromebooks And Backpacks
We decided to make this change so that students have less to carry back and forth, and to reduce the traffic during drop-off and pick-up times. With this change we are encouraging families to have students walk to school if they are able to since they will have fewer materials to carry back and forth. We will also still be able to continue education and learning if either a class, team, or the entire building needs to switch to a remote model with short notice.
Between now and Thanksgiving break we will be monitoring to see if there is any increase in damage that would warrant us looking into purchasing covers for the Chromebooks.
If the school were to need to switch to either hybrid learning or fully remote learning, students would bring both backpacks home with their school materials in one, and personal belongings in the other.
If a team or the entire school were to be notified in the evening hours or over a weekend of a switch to fully remote learning for an extended period, the school will create a supplies pick up schedule so that students will have access to all of their materials in addition to the Chromebooks.
Thank you all for your support with this and for encouraging students to walk to school since they have fewer materials. We hope this will be a positive change for students and families.
Have a great weekend!
- Matt
PBIS News
Students have earned our next celebration day by earning 20 Falcon Eggs! That equates to 2000 feathers handed out, for being kind, safe, respectful and responsible! Great job kiddos!
On Friday, November 6th we will be having Character Day! Come dressed as your favorite character!

Visitors in School
If you need to see the nurse for any reason, such as dropping off medication, please call the Health Office at 857-7789, she will arrange a time to meet you outside, in front of the building.
Thank you for your patience as we navigate the new norm for this school year. We can't wait for the time that it's ok for parents to come back in and volunteer at school, and connect in person!
Last Call for Falcon Gear!
It's that time again! We are offering our fundraiser through Kevin Smith's sports for families that might be interested in ordering Fleming Falcon Gear! Fleming school gets a portion of each sale, that directly supports our PBIS efforts, and school wide celebrations.
If you are interested, you can order now, through October 31st. The plan is to try and have things arrive before early winter break.
Please follow the link below, if you would like to check it out and see what's available or place an order!
Falcon Exchange (Formerly Emily's Closet)
Arrangements to drop off clothing can be done through our Howard Center Clinician Ali Fallon at Afallon@ewsd.org or by calling the office.
Thank you!
A Note from Ms. McClintock
Students have been learning about a special student in Tanzania named Elisha, and what life can be like in Tanzania! For the last 7 years the Fleming community has raised money for Elisha. Elisha is an orphan and the money raised covers his schooling for a year, food, clothing, and doctors visits. Ms. McClintock met him 7 years ago through Neema International program she works closely with. She visits frequently and has loved the friendship this program and the Fleming community has made. We are just $130 away from reaching our goal this year.
