May - Graduation Edition - Class of 2023

Congratulations Unity Preschool Graduates

Dear Unity Preschool Families,

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26 NIV

I am always excited to devote this last issue of our Newsletter to honoring our preschool graduates. In fact, if you are wondering why we celebrate preschool graduation, allow me a moment to remind you of the many, many milestones that our graduates have achieved these past few years. I like to think of preschool graduation as the culmination of the most basic of all learning; the foundation of life lessons that many of us may take for granted.

During your child's preschool years at Unity Preschool, your child learned the ABCs and the sounds those letters make. They learned how to count to 10, then 20, then 30, and up to 100 for some. They learned how to recognize their name and how to write their name. They learned the days of the week, the months of the year, and the seasons. They learned songs, fingerplays, poems, and stories that many of you may not even know. They learned how to follow directions, how to sit quietly, and how to take turns. They learned not just how to share, but that they have to share to be successful. They learned how to socialize with others and how to talk in front of classmates through morning Circle Time and other lessons. They learned how to respect authority and that actions have consequences. They learned that not every accident they have, or tear they cry, will be kissed and wiped away by mom or dad. They learned that if they mess up or make a mistake, it is OK and they know how to try to work through the problem. They learned how to love people not in their family, maybe even classmates who do not look like them. They made their first friends without the help of their parents. They started showing signs of compassion and empathy. They learned that they can talk to Jesus anytime and that God loves us very much. All of these many educational, emotional and social lessons learned and conquered at both preschool and home, deserve to be celebrated!

We recognize that you have many choices of preschools in our area and we are so grateful that you chose Unity Preschool. Thank you for trusting us with your children and for supporting Unity Preschool and our Staff through the years. We will miss you and wish you all the best!

Much love and many blessings,

Ms. Linda

Preschool Graduation - Wednesday, May 17

Preschool graduation will be held in the Sanctuary at 11:00 on Wednesday, May 17 for our Four's classes. You are welcome to bring any guests who would like to attend. The Fish Class (Ms. Maureen/Ms. Kellie) will be seated on the left side of the Sanctuary (facing the front) and the Owl Class (Ms. Elizabeth/Ms. Sarah) will be seated on the right side of the Sanctuary. Your child's gift Bible and EOY Portfolio will be available for pick-up following graduation on the tables in the outside gathering area. We look forward to celebrating with you.

Game Day - Thursday, May 19 (LAST DAY OF SCHOOL)

We will be spending most of the last day of school (Thursday, May 19) enjoying our fabulous outdoor space. Ms. Laura designed several fun stations (e.g., donut toss, bubble popping, ping pong toss, face painting - to name a few) that the classes will rotate between. Your child may come home with a few "prizes." We are looking forward to celebrating our fabulous year together.

Unity Preschool is Hiring

We are sad to say goodbye to Ms. Beth who will be sharing her amazing teaching skills with a school district this fall. We will miss her and we wish her the best in her new adventure. We are thrilled that Ms. Brandi is taking her spot as our new Lead Threes teacher. Ms. Brandi assisted Ms. Becca in the Threes class this school year and was our former Fours Lead Teacher. She will work with Ms. Laura in the Frog room. We are looking for an energetic, loving person to join our preschool family as an Assistant - three days/week from 8:30 until 12:15. If you are interested or know the perfect person to help us, please contact Linda Bunge for more information.

Unity Preschool has Openings

Unity Preschool has openings in the Fours class next year and we will take names for our waitlist for the Threes class. We do not heavily advertise, preferring word-of-mouth referrals. We would appreciate your referral if you have any friends or new neighbors looking for a preschool home.
