Dear Mustang Families ~
2.26.2021
Dear Families~
I am excited that we are getting ready to have our students back into the building. Make sure you read the newsletter and the Updated Reopening Information. As we move closer to your child's opportunity to come back to school for Hybrid, you'll have the chance to decide if you want your child to return to McBride's Hybrid Model (7:45a-12p) or have them stay completely remote and register for our St. Helens Virtual Academy. If you haven't already, you'll have an opportunity to sign your child up to receive meals. We want our students to have access to meals and all you have to do is sign up. Once signed up, your child will go home each day with that day's lunch as well as tomorrow's breakfast and lunch. It's a win-win!
We look so forward to having your students in the building again for some in-person instruction. If you have any questions, I have created a McBride Family Question Form for you to have an easy, quick place to drop us a question. We'll do our best to respond within 24 hours.
Be safe, be well and have a wonderful weekend!
Keep up the partnership with us!.

Next Week: Read Across America
Read Across America is a special day with the goal of having every child in the United States have someone read to them. In 1998, the National Education Association (NEA) selected Dr. Seuss's birthday, March 2nd, to be the official day to encourage everyone to take time to read to children. Read Across America is a big celebration at McBride. There are so many wonderful books and authors that we take all week to celebrate!
Come to your Canvas Library class to find:
- Read Across America Spirit Dress Up Days with Themed Books
- Books, Resources, and Activities including a map where you can Read Across America.
- Story Time with Mrs. Nelson: Featuring The Sneetches by Dr. Seuss
Dress Up Days Next Week

Tuesday, 3/2 - Hat Day - Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

BUS TRANSPORTATION SURVEY
With a planned date to return to a hybrid model of in-person learning of March 8, 2021 for students in pre-kindergarten (Pre-K), kindergarten (K) and first grade (1), we're reaching out to parents/guardians of ALL elementary (PK - 5) students to update our bus rosters. Having updated rosters is imperative to ensure health and safety protocols are followed. Please visit the following link and complete a submission for each of your students in grades K through 5 to tell us whether you’ll be utilizing busing when students return to in-person learning.
St. Helens School District - Winter 2021 Bus Transportation Survey
If you have transportation needs that are specifically due to this COVID year schedule, please indicate your needs when filling out the survey. Once you've filled out the survey, you do not have to fill it out again. Thank you for partnering with us.

From: Couples and Family Therapy Program; University of Oregon
The Center for Healthy Relationships at the University of Oregon’s HEDCO Clinic – is offering a virtual Relationship Check-In, a useful opportunity for couples, relationships and families. We will be offering these one-time, no fee, extended sessions (at least 90 minutes) from now until the end of May. Interested clients can call the center (541-346-0923) and request a relationship check-in session. We will then schedule for the following week, if not sooner. All sessions are telehealth and are available for anyone in Oregon.
We know that the pandemic has meant significant stressors and we want to be of support. We look forward to helping folks check in about what is going well and what support they may need given all the current challenges. All relationship types, families, parent/child relationships are welcome. Participants may learn new things about themselves and/or their loved ones. No commitment is necessary, as this service is meant to provide participants a chance to "check-in" without feeling committed to long term therapy. We can, though, set up longer term services should that be of interest.
