Blue Devil Blast

Volume I, Issue 6 - September 10, 2021

Saturday is the 20th Anniversary of 9/11

Digital Learning Day Tuesday, September 14

A reminder that Gwinnett County Public Schools will have an asynchronous learning day on Tuesday, September 14. ALL students will be learning from home. Students should log into eCLASS to work independently on assignments.

Meals will be delivered along all bus routes countywide. Families should expect buses to run their routes from approximately 10:45 a.m. to noon, beginning at the first stops on the route. Like meals served at school, these delivered meals are provided at no cost under a federal waiver.

Again, Tuesday, September 14, is a scheduled digital learning day for all students.

Remember… While breakfast and lunch will be provided at no charge for all GCPS students this school year, it still pays to complete the Free and Reduced-price Meal Application as confirmed eligibility establishes additional benefits for the student and provides additional federal funds for the school.

Did you miss the Norcross Area Board Meeting?

You can attend in another cluster. The next meeting is September 14 @ Berkmar HS

This fall, the Gwinnett County Board of Education will go on the road, meeting once in each Board member’s district. At this year’s Area Board Meetings attendees will have the opportunity to meet Gwinnett County Public Schools’ new superintendent, Dr. Calvin J. Watts, and members of the Gwinnett County Board of Education. During the meeting, Dr. Watts will share information about the new school year and his focus as he begins leading Georgia’s largest school district. In addition, meeting participants will learn more about the district’s work to engage the community and will be able to provide input through an online survey to share topics that are of interest to them.

Please note that interpreters will be available at all meetings to assist participants who speak Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, or Chinese.

This is an online event.

We're trying something new for Curriculum Night.

Teachers will be preparing videos to introduce themselves and their classes, which you will be able to watch online. During Curriculum Night, each team will have Q&A sessions via Zoom in which you can ask your further questions for clarification. Links will be posted on the team's eClass pages or emailed to parents.
