With Great Gratitude

The many expressions of appreciation shared with Hillcrest's entire staff this week has left us all in disbelief. We are so honored to be able to serve your family and knowing that our work is appreciated reminds us of what a special community we are a part of. THANK YOU! Thank you for the amazing food and gifts. Thank you for the gift cards and little surprises this week. Thank you for the notes, calls and flowers. Thank you for making Hillcrest such a caring school and thanks for those great kids!

Special thank you to Jackie Boehringer and her PTO team for putting together the amazing appreciation events this week. Be sure to pass on your thanks to Jackie!

Hillcrest's next Culver's Night is this Tuesday at the Culver's next to Woodman's! Come and enjoy some custard while you and your family are supporting our PTO and all of the amazing work they do to support our school. The flavor of the day is Kit Kat Swirl!

Drop Off and Pick Up Safety

This morning's rain brought some safety concerns to drop off time. Please take some time to review this traffic patterns document. It is important that we all follow these guidelines as it will make our AM drop offs safe for everyone! While the rain is an inconvenience, those are the days when it is MOST important to follow the traffic patterns.

Before and After School Care at Hillcrest

The site council has been reviewing our before and after school care and we have evaluated our current provider, YMCA, as well as other providers that are available locally. Our goal is to provide quality care that is safe, engaging and a positive extension to the student day.

Moving into the 2018-2019 school year, we have determined that the best program to support our families is the Waukesha Park and Rec Cool School program. This program is currently running in eight other schools in the School District of Waukesha and we have found very positive feedback from families and school communities who are employing Park and Rec for both the before and after school care.

Please see the attached memo HERE for more information.

Also, HERE is the flyer for families who are interested in registering for next year's program.

Making Room for More Memories

Hillcrest is slated to be completely repainted in the next couple years! This fresh coat will be completed during the summer of 2019 and it will include both indoor and outdoor painting. A couple select areas will be painted this summer in preparation for our GE Day. One of our murals will be covered up this summer as we make room for new memories. We'd like to celebrate the mural before it is covered up with a picture that will be framed and hung in the building. If you know any of the artists that helped create the mural that is located outside the gym doors, we would like to get their picture with the mural before it is covered up. Have them reach out to us at hillcrest@waukesha.k12.wi.us and we will arrange a time for them to come and get another look.

Hillcrest Elementary School
