Reminders
A Reminder About Birthday Treats..
If students choose to bring in a treat for their birthday, it needs to be individually wrapped and will be sent home with their classmates at the end of the day. This assures the safety of our students who have allergies…and we have found it allows for more instruction as well! Thank you for respecting this request!
*Please make sure these are nut free treats
Word Study
Word study will begin next week. We will be studying a sort for two weeks to give students time to really learn and understand the rules of the sort and apply it to their spelling. We will be testing every other Friday. The sort will come home on Monday and you may study/practice the words in any way with your child. We will also be sending home 4 no excuse words for the two weeks to study with your child.
Seesaw
We sent home and emailed an invite to join Seesaw. We will be using this as our primary means of communication between home and school. The great thing about Seesaw is that your child will also be able to upload sample of things they are doing in school and are proud of. If you haven't signed up we encourage you to do so.
Reading
This week we continued to focus on stamina and fluency. We also continued to read with each child to get to know their strengths and determine best next instruction. Reading logs are coming home each night and should be filled in. This information helps students to set reading goals around their reading habits.
