Principal's Update

School Closure Week of May 25-29, 2020

Big picture

Dear Judson Middle and JSTEM Families,

First and foremost, I want to thank all of our families that have served and continue to serve in the military. We are very fortunate to live in a country that is free and it is simple phrase, but so very true: Freedom Isn't Free. We at JMS and JSTEM thank those that have given their lives so that we can live ours in a wonderful country! May God bless all of you that mourn the loss of someone who is not with you today due to their sacrifice for this great nation.

Tomorrow is a school holiday so there will be no zoom meetings or office hours. We will resume on Tuesday and your student's last day will be on Thursday, May 28. Although school will be over; I will keep sending weekly newsletters through-out the summer to keep you informed of updates and pertinent information. As of now, we are resuming school on Aug. 18.

All JISD Students Must Register On-Line

Please click on the link here and you will be directed to the page in order to register your child. The page will look like the below picture. As you can see there are directions and links for returning families as well as new families. There is also a step by step guide available on the same page.

Your child's advisory teacher will be reaching out this week to provide any assistance you might need over the phone.

You will need a scanner to upload a few docs: If you don't have access to a traditional scanner, you can use your phone:

  • IPhones have a built in scanner under notes.
  • Anyone can download GENIUS SCAN app to scan docs from your phone.

These are just 2 that I know of, so I am sure there are more available.

We will have personnel at school on Wednesday, 27th from 8:00-4:00 to assist anyone who is unable to proceed online. We ask that you try to complete on-line to minimize the number of people coming to school; as we are still very concerned about everyone's health and safety.

8th Grade End of Year Parade

Wednesday, May 27th, 6-7pm

9695 Schaefer Road

Converse, TX

Dear 8th Grade Families, Each year, we plan a bridging ceremony for JSTEM Academy students as a means to finalize their years as a middle school student and declare their high school of choice. Since assuming principal for entire school; I planned to have a bridging ceremony for both JSTEM & JMS; adn both of these events would have been held at the PAC this week. Since we will not be able to have these events live; we will have an opportunity for you and your child to drive through the parking lot and receive well-wishes from all of our staff at a safe distance! Please make plans to drive through the front parking lot of JMS on Wednesday, 27th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. where we will wave and cheer curbside.
