Kinder/First Grade
Kindergarten and First grade students have created different types of play dough and observed which product works best. Now they are creating plans for their improved play dough processes by noting how much materials they need and the order of steps. They will create play dough using the steps of their process and score their play dough based off established criteria.
Second Grade
Second grade students are creating water filters. They are learning that a good design will meet all of the criteria for solving a problem (in this case, speedy filtration, removal of particles and color, and low cost) to some degree. They will create and test their water filters, scoring them on the established criteria. After, they will improve their water filter designs based on the results of testing and their final score.
Third Grade
Third grade students are using their knowledge of simple machines to build factory subsystems based on plans. Students will test their subsystems by measuring the force required to move the load and analyzing the subsystem’s ergonomics. Students will brainstorm ways to improve their subsystem designs and implement some of their improvement ideas.
Fourth Grade
Fourth grade students are creating transportation systems using magnets. Students are noting aspects of their designs that work well, or do not work well, and brainstorm possible ways to improve their designs. Groups will then redesign their plans and create their maglev transportation systems based on their initial test results.
Fifth Grade
Fifth grade students are participating in the card board challenge and creating arcade games out of recyclable materials. Creativity is an important skill and the cardboard challenge is a powerful tool. Their games will be available to play at the GT Showcase on April 18th.

Sixth Grade
Sixth grade students are using the Little Bits Circuits to create a variety unique projects. They have all designed different projects in a group that pertain to their interest.
Seventh Grade
Seventh grade students are creating a digital story on Movie maker. They will use a video editing program using different categories of their interest.
Eighth Grade
Eighth grade students are putting their design skills to the test. They are editing a photo that they have taken themselves and would like to share with everyone. They will then write a description about why the chose the photo and create an eye-catching title.
