Martin Middle School

Welcome Eagles

Dear Eagles,

This school year will be my fourth year at Martin Middle School and the third year as the proud principal. I am excited to share with you the wonderful events and programs continuing this year at Martin MS. The Innovation Academy at Martin is now offered in all three grade levels. Our students will continue to participate in fun and educational field trips that will open their world to careers and experiences in STEAM fields. The Dual Language program at Martin is now in 7th and 6th grade. We have over 80 students that have requested DL programming in the 6th grade. We are so excited about that! Thanks to community and staff feedback, we have added options for our dress code. The additional colors are a reflection of the campus partnerships that we have with the University of Texas (burnt orange), Houston Tillotson (maroon), and Austin Community College (purple). Our partnerships with AISD’s Creative Learning Initiative have planned a fun transition camp. We look forward to meeting our incoming 6th graders on August 6th – August 9th. As always, I look forward to having an opportunity to meeting with our families and community members at our monthly Community Alliance/Coffee with the Principal meetings. This meeting occurs the second Tuesday of every month, at 8:30 am, in our library starting on September 13th. I hope to see you at our campus events. Follow me on Twitter, @MartinMSEagles, so that you can see the great things we do this year. It’s going to be a great year!

-Mrs. Monica de la Garza-Conness
