Message from the Principal

January 14, 2022

It is crazy to think this is January and recess was actually outdoors a couple times this week! I know the kids were excited. Whenever the weather permits, we will try to have outdoor recess. Please continue to make sure your student brings their coat, hats, and gloves with them each day.

As anticipated after a break, we are seeing postiive Covid cases. Thank you for your patience and support when your child has to quarantine. If your child is exhibiting symptoms or lives with a person who tested positive, please do not send them to school and contact our nurse for return guidance. Our goal is to keep our students healthy and in school as much as possible.

There is a lot of unfinished learning ahead for our students in academics, behavior, and emotional growth. It takes a team both in school and at home to support and encourage them to find their personal success. Thank you for all you do to support your students!

E-learning Monday 1/17 (Martin Luther King Day)

STUDENTS LEARN AT HOME - Reminder that Monday, January 17 (Martin Luther King Day) will be a scheduled e-learning day. NO STUDENTS WILL BE AT THE SCHOOL BUILDING.

Students will need to check their Google Classroom for assignments. Encourage your student to email their teacher if they have questions.

Weather Related E-learning

Students will bring their Chromebooks and chargers home each night to be prepared for weather issues and potential school closings. Should there be a need for e-learning, students will need to login through their Google Classrooms for assignments.

After School Remediation

We had a good start this week. Students were all working hard and engaged in their work. Looking forward to their progress as they continue!

Dates: January 11 - March 3 (Tues./Thurs.)

Time: 3:15 - 4:45

If you have any changes to transportation, please contact the front office ASAP.

Guidance Update

We are starting our Emotion Management lessons that will continue for several weeks. We discussed the importance of managing emotions whether they are positive or negative. Each student received velcro (rough & smooth) to place on their desks to help with anxious feelings during the day. Corporation counselors also met to discuss the current programs that are being used in each building to promote student academic and mental health success.

Covid 19 School Guidance

From the Nurse

If you are interested in a Covid 19 vaccine for your child, contact your health care provider or the Miami County Health Department. See more information below. Thank you for all of your help supporting our back to school guidelines. It has really helped to reduce our quarantine and postiive covid numbers.
