This week...

In this first week, we'll meet Mr. Tanen, a school principal who uses his tie collection to help his school. Mr. Tanen's Tie Trouble is a realistic fiction story about a hero and a helper. Students will explore the question "How can helping others make you feel good?" We'll also read an informational text called The Jefferson Daily News.

Target Vocabulary: recieved, account, budget, disappointed, chuckled, starting, repeated, fund

Comprehension Skill: Story sturcture tell the setting, character, adn plot in a story

We have started our next Topic: Topic 9 Subtracting Two - Digit Numbers. When we return in January I will be testing the kids weekly on their basic facts to ensure that they are ready for third grade and multiplication. There are many fun ways to learn these basic facts. You can search quick free apps on any device or just prcatice them as you take your family trips this winter break in the car. My to be step daughter loves to have us practice while we run errands. Its quick and easy!
