Please be sure to look at our upcoming events below. Outside of our PreK/K orientations, the first day of school for all students will be on Tuesday, September 5th. All students are to report to our recess area where we will line up by grade level on our outdoor basketball courts . All parents must stay outside of the recess area, behind the fence. If we happen to experience bad weather, students are to be dropped off at the carport or front entrance, so they may immediately enter the school building. Staff members will direct the students to the gym/cafeteria.
Once students have entered and are settled in the building, we welcome parents to join us for a welcome back breakfast in the school cafeteria. A light continental breakfast will be served- we encourage all to join us!

Special Thanks from Mrs. Meixsell
I personally would like to express my sincere gratitude for being chosen as one of the honorees for the Candlelight Ball & to be able to share it with both Sr. Margo & Kathy Cunningham. I was so deeply touched and humbled by the recognition. As I mentioned in my speech, teaching at SCS is not a job but something that I love to do everyday. Being able to teach, inspire, guide and direct young people is something that I truly have a passion about. I have always felt that God places us where he thinks we will make a difference.
The evening was spectacular from beginning to end. The PTA truly outdid themselves and I can’t imagine the hours it took to accomplish such a wonderful, enjoyable and incredible evening. All of you are an inspiration in bringing our school community together & to host an event that all will be talking about for quite awhile. Our Candlelight Ball was incredible with so much love and fellowship. And what a gift to me that throughout my years at SCS I have had the opportunity to know both the students as well as the parents.
Thank you again for one of the most memorable evenings of my life. I will never forget how special the evening was to share with my family, friends, colleagues, former & present parents & students.
God Bless You,
Ellen
Mission of Mercy Nigeria
Sr. Carole introduced Sr. Karen Schneider to Curran Magnusson and Connor Martin who are interested in traveling to Nigeria with her team of American physicians, residents, and nurses. Sister Karen is a pediatrician from Johns Hopkins Hospital who travels extensively to Haiti and Africa to provide medical assistance to children. Curran attends the Academy of Allied Health and Science and Connor is a student at Communications High School. Both boys are juniors in school and have been interested in the African journey since they were Sr. Carole’s students at St. Catharine School. Parents Barbara Magnusson and Maureen Martin were present at the preparatory meeting for the boys’ August trip with many questions and a Nigerian checklist that was being explained by Sr. Karen.
