Director's Newsletter
All the latest news from February 11th - March 4th, 2018
We hope that you are all keeping well!
We have had a very busy couple of weeks with so many events that were hosted in the school and we will have a few more that will take place next week.
We always like to keep our parents up-to-date and in-the-know. Currently, we are busy planning for, and recruiting for the next academic year. We are also delighted that almost all of our teachers will be returning next year, ensuring excellent continuity.
In addition, we are in the process of preparing for our PYP re-accreditation!
So as you can see, it's full on here from our end, but we ask you to please, sit back, relax and enjoy reading this edition of our Director's newsletter!

Incyte Visit - Leaders of Learning Program
Incyte Leaders of Learning programme resumes this week at Ajman Academy. The aim of this programme is to develop leaders of learning in our Primary & Secondary sections. The target is to ensure that all lessons taught are to be either very good or outstanding.
Our Leaders of learning take on mentors and cascade throughout the school. Evidence suggests that all teachers can teach consistently "very good" or "outstanding" lessons within 3 years.
Meet the Team of "Chef Yasser"
In our continuous effort to provide excellent catering services to all our students, this week we've taken a snapshot of the kitchen team of Chef Yasser here at Ajman Academy.
The team are always here to listen to your feedback and assist in any way possible. For those that have not yet registered, you are welcome to visit the school at any time and speak with the operation manager of Chef Yasser at the school Mr. Basel Mardini for more information
PYP Grade 6 Exhibition
Endless 'thank you' goes to Ms. May Campbell for the organization of this important event. It wouldn't have happened without her tireless efforts throughout these months. Thank you to Mr. Keith Lines for his invaluable assistance in the performance. It was flawless indeed. Thank you to all the parents that showed up and offered their support to their children and fellow students. And last but definitely not least, thank you to all the mentors. We are grateful for the time you have also put in to ensure that each of your groups' boards and work paid off.
Beyond COP 21 / Symposium
We welcomed over 120 students from 6 different schools from across Ajman, Sharjah and Dubai. Students of Ajman Academy also wore green in support of the Eco-Symposium and were excited to be able to view all the exhibitors. They were also able to have presentations about the environment.
We would like to extend our gratitude and say thank you to Mr. Peter Milne - founder of Target4Green - for having his event at our school.
We would also like to thank the exhibitors for showcasing all the wonderful steps in making our country 'Greener' to live in. Special thanks to the staff that assisted in making this event successful and of course Mr. Basil Curlewis - AJAC's environmental coordinator - who without his endless work, this event would not have taken place.
Upcoming Events
For each of the days, we will be welcoming over 120 competitive swimmers and coaches from 9 different schools and close to that many parents, teachers and students.
Ajman Academy will represent the girls gala in 3 age categories (U10-12-14) and the boys in all 4 age categories (U10-12-14-16).
In the EISSA Boys Swimming, AJAC currently holds 19 records out of a total of 36. The distribution of records as per the age categories are as follows: U10 (5 records) / U12 (6 records) / U14 (8 records)
All the best of luck to all the swimmers.
