Mrs. Gavey's Classroom Update
April 21, 2017
Hello,
I hope this letter finds all of you enjoying the spring weather. Even with the rain, it feels so good to come to school without a jacket! By tonight, your child should have brought home his/her writing binder. We have added all of the informational writing work from this last marking period for your review. Please take your time looking at the contents, but return it with all papers intact by Monday, April 24. Thanks!
The annual 3rd grade trip to Greenfield Village is Thursday, June 15, and the cost is $18.50 per person. Paperwork should be in your child's take-home folder tonight. We can have as many chaperones as we like, so please join us for this well-loved trip. Thanks again for your nightly support. Your children are amazing!

Curriculum
Math
We are just about through Unit 6. We will begin to review on Monday in preparation for the test on Thursday. You will see a very long unit review coming home, as this unit is so full of concepts. Also, please note that if your child received a 2 on the report card in the "Fluently knows multiplication/division facts" section, he/she is STILL working on mastering all 22 dashes. Any support at home is appreciated.
Language Arts
In reading, students are working on presentations for our group readings of the "I Survived ..." series. I will be working on reading with each student individually in order to document reading growth for the year.
