Hughes Families Weekly Newsletter
As we conclude the end of October, our Owls have been very busy! We had great participation in our Red Ribbon Week, our vocalists and instrumentalists held their first concerts of the year, and our Flag Football and Volleyball teams played in the All-City Championship game. Thank you, Mr. Ahrens and student council for your hard work with Red Ribbon Week. Thank you to Mr. Balajadia and Mr. Castellanos for your hard work and preparation for your concerts. Thank you to Dr. McCloyn, Ms. Kevorkian, and Mr. Nguyen for helping with the concerts. Congratulations to Coach Collins and Coach Sonya for the fantastic seasons that brought our students to the All-City Championships. Hughes Guidelines for Success
Hughes - A Green Ribbon School
Reusable Water Bottles: We encourage all students to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated and reduce our plastic waste.
Clean and Green: As a Green School, our students should not litter on or around campus. Please make sure that all items are thrown away and that we also pick up trash that we see when walking or sitting by it. When we ignore trash on the ground, we are saying that we are OK with trash on the ground, and that's not the Hughes way!
Walk, Bike, Carpool: To minimize the amount of CO2 we add to our environment as well as noise pollution from traffic, we encourage all our students to walk, bike, or carpool to school, when possible.
Join the Hughes PTA! Our goal is for our entire school community to be members!
