Mom's Night with David Wright

A special thanks to Lori Fisk for making last Wednesday a reality. I was really moved by your feedback and comments on our facebook page. Because of you, that one post reached over 1,350 people. Let's challenge ourselves to become friendlier people and to harness the full potential of our collective strengths. And remember, nameplate, doll house, little people waving, work glove, airplane, tennis racket, club, light bulb.

October Meetings

Dates, times & locations for October meetings. RSVP at the bottom of this newsletter.

Your Frequently Asked Questions

We've developed a set of Frequently Asked Questions. The goal is to deliver clarity around our standards and requirements. Please provide feedback if points can be more clear or if we've left something out. We will continue to modify to ensure it's usefulness to you.

Logging Hours and Meetings

Please ensure that you and your son have logged both hours and meetings via the Hours Tab on the website. For assistance, please reach out to VP, Technology Cynthia Labrake.

Sustainable Food Center Training

Training is required for anyone wanting to serve in an individual or small group.

$10 Background checks are also required, but only for moms (NOT Sons).

The training:

  • is offered one night each month
  • lasts one hour at their location
  • background checks are a one-time requirement ($10)
  • Not required for large group activities

The good news is you get 1 hour of service credit for attending.

September Charity Highlight - Colin's Hope

A little boy named Colin Holst was four years old when he drowned in shallow water. The day he died, life changed forever for Colin's family. Fueled by their desire to prevent similar tragedies, they founded Colin's Hope to promote water safety in their community and to educate children, parents and lifeguards on drowning prevention.

Their vision: to enable a world where children do not drown.

YMSL Cedar Park has served with Colin's Hope on several events so far this year. The Best 24 Hour Swim Raiser, Water Safety Days in East Austin and most recently, the Annual Kids Tri where our very own 9th grade president, Carson Neel, served as "Larry the Life Vest". Way to go Carson!

YMSL Photo Releases Still Needed
