CONGRATULATIONS SLMS Music
What an amazing day! The weather was perfect and the performances were OUTSTANDING from all of the groups. What an amazing group of musicians to travel with.
Special thanks go to all of our chaperones and SLMS Principal, Dr. Mitchell. Events like this are not possible without parents and administrators supporting the music program every step of the way. Thank you for sharing your Mother's Day weekend with SLMS Music.
Results for the day - We brought home 5 trophies
Middle School Orchestra AA - Superior Rating and 1st place trophy
Middle School Mixed Choir AA - Superior Rating and 1st place trophy
Middle School Band AA - Superior Rating and 2nd place trophy
Overall Top Orchestra of the Day - Summit Lakes Middle School 8th Grade
Esprit De Corp Award - Summit Lakes Middle School
The Esprit De Corp Award (Spirit of the Ensemble) is truly our favorite trophy to earn! It is awarded to the school that exemplifies excellence not only in performance, but in behavior choices. It is voted on by judges, festival staff, ensemble escorts, and building music coordinating staff. Dr. Mitchell could not say enough about SLMS Music students receiving the Esprit de Corp. This says A LOT about the SLMS musicians and how they help, encourage, and support each other.
CONGRATULATIONS Choir Students
CONGRATULATIONS to the following students that auditioned and made the Missouri All-State 7-8 Summer Honor Choir!
We had 14 SLMS choir students audition and make the choir this year! They auditioned with a solo voice recording by singing America-My Country Tis of Thee a capella AND an accompanied 1 minute vocal solo. Please congratulate them if you see them!
