Hello RHE families!
Parent/teacher conferences are next Monday through Wednesday. It is a wonderful opportunity to hear about how your child is meeting expectations and in what areas improvement is needed. Parent/Teacher Conferences and Report Cards
Parent-Teacher conferences will take place this month (November 19th-21st) for all grades.
Please note the change in schedule during the week of November 19th:
- Students will have an early dismissal on Monday, November 19th (PM Kindergarten attends)
- Tuesday, November 20th (AM Kindergarten attends)
- Schools are closed for students on Wednesday, November 21st through Friday, November 23rd.
- School will resume on Monday, November 26th.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, report cards will not be available for printing in the HAC system in time for parent conferences. As such, you will not have a hard copy of your child’s report card prior to conferences. This will only impact grades 3-6 because grades K-2 do not receive a report card for the first marking period. If there are any questions about report cards after they become available in HAC on November 26th at 4:00 p.m., you can always contact the teacher for a follow-up discussion.
Emergency or Early Dismissals Plans
I'd also like to pass along some optimal strategies to families when communicating a change in dismissal plans when there is an emergency dismissal:
- If the plan is created before your child goes to school, review the information so that he/she is aware of the change.
- If a plan is made last-minute, please call the school office. This will ensure that the information will be received before dismissal.
- If you are only able to use email to communicate a change in dismissal plan, please email the teacher and me and preferably several hours before dismissal.
The safety of the children is the most significant objective during the dismissals on bad-weather days. A key component to maintaining their safety is when dismissal changes are communicated clearly to the school staff. Thank you.
Box Tops
The winner of the October Box Tops Contest is ... Mrs. Weed's First Grade Class! They collected 337 Box Tops last month, beating out Mrs. Higgins' class by 74 Box Tops.
So far this year we have collected 2243 Box Tops; for a total of $353.90 for our school. "Keep Clipping" those Box Tops! This month's contest ends on Friday, November 30th!
Teacher Appreciation Luncheon
Our annual Teacher Appreciation Luncheon is this Tuesday, November 20th. Many thanks to all of those that have donated to the event this year. If you signed up to bring an item for the Luncheon, please drop off your donation at the school by 9:30 on Tuesday. A cart will be outside the school, at the Car Rider Line, from 8:50 - 9:10 for your convenience. If you drop off after that time, please bring your donation to the Main Office. Please make sure your name is on your Crockpot/dish/utensils. All items will be available for pick up at the office by 3:30 on Tuesday.
If you have not signed up to bring an item yet, there are still several slots available on the Signup Genius (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0C4FA5AF2CA5FD0-teacher). Monetary donations are also welcome and can be made through our School Store (http://www.rhhsa.org/store.html).
If you would like to help, but aren't finding anything on the Signup Genius that interests you, please feel free to reach out to our Committee Chair, Alli Marques (paulandalli@gmail.com).
Thank you.
