Welcome to Summer School at Seagoville Middle School
It is now time for us to welcome the students to school Monday morning. As I walked the building Friday, I saw lots of creativity in various rooms. Your lesson objectives were posted, the majority of you had your classroom expectations posted, and your desks were arranged for learning. I want to give a shout out to Ms. Guadagnoli and Ms. Nipper for creating a bulletin board dedicated to the DOL tracker to progress monitor their students. I saw welcome signs on the doors of Mrs. Wright and Mr. Greback, and Ms. Moore. Ms. Cofer and Ms. Smith made the chalkboard bright and it just drew me to your room. They had the verbs for the LO and DOL boxed so that it can focus the students on what they were learning. As I walked each of your rooms, I felt that you were ready to have school Monday. Mr. Jordan and I can't wait to see each of you in action Monday morning.

Carol Dweck: The power of believing that you can improve
The Power of Yet
As you watch this video, I want you to think about how you can instill in your students and yourself a growth mindset. One statement that had the greatest impact on me was that we should praise students for their process, effort, strategies, focus, improvements, and perseverance. How will you create growth mindsets this summer?
