Need a Boost to your Self-Esteem? Try an Affirmation!
Middle School life can be tough! The ups and downs can affect a kid’s self esteem. Parents and kids, there is hope to help you make it through. Try an Affirmation! A What? An affirmation is an uplifting thought or statement you can tell yourself to give you a boost and a positive perspective about yourself or your situation. Affirmations can also counter any negative thoughts you may have as well. Memorize a quote, place a sticky note in your binder, write a morning affirmation on your bathroom mirror, text one to your kid, or drop a note in their lunchbox! Infuse their mind with a positive affirmation that will brighten their day! Keep reading and pick one that you like, or better yet, make one up on your own :) Share and repeat often.
For students
“I am enough"
“No one ever made a difference by being like everyone else”
“I’m doing the best I can…and that’s enough”
“Be myself, everyone else is already taken”
“My best teacher is my last mistake”
"I am confident and courageous"
"I am calm and comfortable in social situations"
Parents to share with children
"You are enough"
"Be yourself, everyone else is taken"
"It is better to be yourself and have no friends, than be like your friends and have no self"
"Give your best....that is enough"
“A single act of kindness can send ripples of healing”
"Your best teacher is your last mistake"
“You were born to be real, not to be perfect”
