A Busy Few Weeks...
Your children have been so busy learning the daily routines. They have also really begun to dive into reading and writing! We have enjoyed many books about school and many great stories from the Wisconsin author, Kevin Henkes. Some favorites are Owen, Chrysanthemum and Wemberly Worried. Students have explored nonfiction as well. We have read a great nonfiction story called, Wolves (our Woodland mascot). Ask your child to share with you some new facts they learned about wolves!
In writing, students have been learning about the importance of having a writing plan before you begin to write a story. We have also spent a great deal of time focusing on message. I am working with students so they understand that everything they write must have a clear message that they want their readers to understand.
Pals Testing...
We are done! Your kids did fabulous. I appreciate your patience with this whole process. I was really able to learn more about your children and how they learn. This will help so much as I plan instruction and work to meet all students' needs.
It is not easy for your child to have different teachers in their classroom, but I am so proud of how well they did. The substitute teachers even complimented me on their behavior. That is so awesome!
