Covid-19 Safety
We have seen a rise in Covid 19 cases at Hancock and we need your help. If your child is sick, please keep them at home and let our School Nurse know. If you have a family member who lives in the household that has tested positive for Covid 19, please keep your child at home and contact our Nurse. CFISD Lead Safely protocols ask for our parents to screen their child every day. We are attaching the protocol below.

Parent Tips for Reading to your Kids
Below is an article on how parents can encourage their kids to read at home. An article on Healthline.com says reading to your child at any age, can increase their brain development and your bond with them. In CFISD, PreK-2nd graders work on "learning to read." 3rd grade - 12th grade students use "reading to learn." It is important for our students to read as much as possible to enhance their literacy skills.
Attendance Matters
According to Great Schools.org, it is difficult for the teacher to build a student's skills if the student is frequently absent.
Here is a chart with the number of absences by grade level for the week of February 1st through February 5th.
Hancock Spelling Bee Champion
5th grader, Anthony A., participated in the District Spelling Bee on February 2nd. He beat out several students from other campuses before being eliminated.
We are so proud of his commitment and dedication to studying hundreds of words. We want to thank him for representing Hancock in a such a wonderful way.
