From the Thompson Administration Team
Hello Thunder Parents/Guardians!
The 2023 Illinois Parent Survey is currently open for you to access and the student survey will be given this week to our TMS students during the school day. These surveys are very important as they provide a feedback loop that allows us to reflect and refine our educational practices. Every year D303 participates in the Illinois 5Essentials Survey as a way to collect feedback from all of our stakeholders: students, teachers, staff, and parents/guardians. The Parent Survey, for Middle School parents, will be open from March 2, 2023 to March 10, 2023. You and your child’s participation in the survey provides an opportunity to share your thoughts on important elements of our school’s effectiveness. These responses will help us understand the conditions at Thompson Middle School and guide our improvement efforts. All responses are confidential and will never be connected to you or your child. Below is the link to the survey for you:

Thank you in advance for your feedback as we greatly welcome and appreciate it.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Michelle Dague
Interim Principal

Volunteer with the Thompson Builders Club!
Builders Club is a club focused on community service. They need 34 volunteers to serve at the Northern Illinois Food Bank on Thursday, April 27th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. They need at least ten students each with a parent, guardian, or older sibling, to volunteer. You do not need to be a member of Builders Club to volunteer. This is a great opportunity for parents and students to spend time with one another while at the same time serving the community.
Please click here for more detailed information and email Dave Simone, one of the club advisors, with any questions.
You’re invited to provide feedback on the important elements about Thompson Middle School to help guide improvements. (Está invitado a dar su opinión sobre los elementos importantes acerca de la escuela Thompson para ayudar a guiar las mejoras.)

2023-2024 Thompson PTO Board Openings
The Thompson PTO is taking Board nominations! The PTO is comprised of elected board positions, dozens of non-elected committee chairs, and numerous volunteers. Our Board positions are open to parents, guardians, and staff as well. If you are interested in running for a Thompson PTO Board Position for the 2023-2024 school year or know someone who would be a good fit, please complete the form below.
Members of the current Board will reach out to anyone who is nominated to share what it is like to be a Board member and to answer questions.
For more information about the open positions, please contact Michelle Dague, Interim Principal, or any of our current PTO Officers: Shannon Puri (President), Laura Bouton (Vice President), Lani Hamilton (Treasurer), and Michelle Johnson (Secretary). You may also visit our PTO website at https://thompsonpto.com.
Thompson Yearbooks
Every year, the Yearbook Club publishes a Thompson yearbook. Students who decide to purchase a yearbook are given this keepsake at the end of the school year. Buying a yearbook is optional and not all students choose to own one. The price of the yearbook is $25.
Have you ordered a Thompson 22-23 Yearbook? You can check your PushCoin account to see if you have purchased one by going to 'transactions' and then adjusting the start date back to July 1, 2022. Also, we have a list of all students who will be receiving a yearbook posted on the wall by the cafeteria. Contact Kim Walters (kimberly.walters@d303.org or 331-228-6410) if you have any questions or need financial assistance.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Sarah Romano (Sarah.romano@d303.org) or Diane Pollilo (Louise.polillo@d303.org), Thompson Staff Facilitators. Please consider encouraging your child to take advantage of these resources!
