From the Thompson Administration Team

Hello Thunder Parents/Guardians!

The 2023 Illinois Parent Survey is currently open for you to access and the student survey will be given this week to our TMS students during the school day. These surveys are very important as they provide a feedback loop that allows us to reflect and refine our educational practices. Every year D303 participates in the Illinois 5Essentials Survey as a way to collect feedback from all of our stakeholders: students, teachers, staff, and parents/guardians. The Parent Survey, for Middle School parents, will be open from March 2, 2023 to March 10, 2023. You and your child’s participation in the survey provides an opportunity to share your thoughts on important elements of our school’s effectiveness. These responses will help us understand the conditions at Thompson Middle School and guide our improvement efforts. All responses are confidential and will never be connected to you or your child. Below is the link to the survey for you:

Thank you in advance for your feedback as we greatly welcome and appreciate it.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Volunteer with the Thompson Builders Club!

Builders Club is a club focused on community service. They need 34 volunteers to serve at the Northern Illinois Food Bank on Thursday, April 27th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. They need at least ten students each with a parent, guardian, or older sibling, to volunteer. You do not need to be a member of Builders Club to volunteer. This is a great opportunity for parents and students to spend time with one another while at the same time serving the community.

Please click here for more detailed information and email Dave Simone, one of the club advisors, with any questions.

Kayla's Hope Rock Painting Party

Kayla’s Kindness Rock Garden was created in the Fox Mill Community in Memory of Kayla Lehmann. It is filled with colorful hand painted rocks that children can take or make to bring kindness to other people. Each year on Kayla’s birthday April 5th Kayla's Hope hosts a Rock Painting Party. All are invited to the event held at the Fox Mill Club House to paint rocks to put in the garden.

Thompson Yearbooks

Every year, the Yearbook Club publishes a Thompson yearbook. Students who decide to purchase a yearbook are given this keepsake at the end of the school year. Buying a yearbook is optional and not all students choose to own one. The price of the yearbook is $25.

Have you ordered a Thompson 22-23 Yearbook? You can check your PushCoin account to see if you have purchased one by going to 'transactions' and then adjusting the start date back to July 1, 2022. Also, we have a list of all students who will be receiving a yearbook posted on the wall by the cafeteria. Contact Kim Walters (kimberly.walters@d303.org or 331-228-6410) if you have any questions or need financial assistance.
