COVID Pooled Testing Information
There has been a great deal of discussion regarding the upcoming pooled testing being offered within the school. We will be moving forward with the process and will begin next Monday, February 1. Students who we have received updated consent for will be tested in the morning and the day will resume as normal.
If you have already provided consent for the Pooled Surveillance Testing prior to 1/26/21, you will need to complete the updated consent which now includes the individual antigen testing through your Parent Aspen Portal. Completion of the updated online consent is required to be able to participate on Monday. Students cannot participate if they only have the first/original consent.
A few helpful pieces of information:
- All parents or guardians should complete the documents with a yes or no for consent
- The school cannot complete the form on your behalf
- Parents and guardians can change the consent forms at any time
Please find a short video here on what your student will be doing to collect the sample along with written directions. Staff will be present to support, supervise and guide. Some families have practiced at home using a cotton swab to reduce any anxieties that students may have.
When students arrive at the school, they will settle in and begin their normal routines. Students will be called to exit the room in small groups. Just outside the classroom door, they will self-collect their samples and place them in the vial. Students will sanitize before and after the sample is taken. They will then resume their typical day.

Attleboro Public Schools Attleboro, Massachusetts COVID-19 STUDENT TRAVEL PROTOCOL: Recreational Travel & Mandatory Self-Quarantine
Governor Baker has issued travel orders effective August 1, 2020 that states that all visitors and returning residents entering Massachusetts must follow new travel orders. The Attleboro Public School’s also has a Travel Protocol in place as a protection for the safety of all our students and staff when someone is returning to school after travel to a high-risk state.
All visitors entering Massachusetts, including returning residents, who do not meet one of the state’s exemptions and have traveled to a high-risk state or who are returning from International travel are required to:
• Complete the Massachusetts Travel Form prior to arrival unless they are visiting from a lower-risk state designated by the Department of Public Health. Currently only Hawaii is designated as a lower-risk state.
• Quarantine for 10 days - or –
• Produce a negative PCR COVID-19 test result administered 72-hours after returning to Massachusetts.
▪ Please turn in any negative test results to your building’s School Nurse.
• While waiting for test results, your child must remain at home under quarantine and not return to school until a negative test can be produced or the 10-day quarantine has been completed.
• Any student who has symptoms may not return to school unless:
o They have been seen by a medical provider and have an alternative diagnosis.
o Have had a negative COVID PCR test result.
o AND their symptoms have cleared.
• Individuals who are COVID-19 recovered, meaning individuals who tested positive more than 10 days but less than 90 days ago and who do not have symptoms, do not need to obtain a negative PCR test after traveling or quarantine upon arrival to Massachusetts. COVID-19 recovered individuals arriving in Massachusetts must have documentation of the positive PCR test result available if asked. This exception does not include COVID-19 recovered individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19, who must follow all testing and quarantine guidance outlined in the travel rules.
