NEWS FROM THE HEADS
Reading occupies my opening thoughts this week. Last year our Senior Girls Library team launched our Accelerated Reader Scheme, with the avowed desire to encourage more and wider reading.

From gooseberry tarts, red velvet cakes and rainforest layer shoe boxes to Mad Hatter hats, Stone Age settlements and poetry recitals , this week has seen a variety of creative, detailed and well-thought out homework pieces come in.

Individual Photographs
The children will be having their photographs taken on Monday 17th October and if your child does not attend on Mondays you are more than welcome to come in and have the picture taken at 8.45am.

On Tuesday 11 October there will be a photographer on site, we will be taking pictures for use in future publications and on the website. Where possible pupils should be in winter uniform please. Pictures will be used in line with our photographic permission and consent guidance.

Please note that winter uniform is to be worn after the October half term break.

G11 Assessment 2016-2017
Year 11 - Organise your homework and revision more effectively using this month-by-month diary of assessments. GCSE Support Clinics start after half term - check the notice board and/or hub pages for details. Please see link here.
School Request
Medical Condition – if there is a change to your child’s medical information ie no longer asthmatic – please can you inform the school office so that a new medical form can be issued and our records amended. Any medication being brought into school needs to be accompanied by the Prescribed Medication Form which is available from the school office.
Loco Parentis – if parents are leaving their child in the responsibility of other family members/family friends during the school working week please inform the school office with names/contact numbers in case of an emergency.
Sickness – please inform the school office by 9.30am. You can leave a voicemail message outside of the school working day and the messages will be picked up.
FORM CAPTAIN/VICE CAPTAINS
The Senior Girls School Council team of Cami Price, Freya Ramsay and Zainab Salem will meet for the first time with the new elected Form and Vice - Form Captains on Monday 10th October. They will be representing the ideas, needs and concerns of the Senior Girls and taking forward any initiatives agreed by the council. Girls please approach your Senior Prefects around school as they are open to other people's ideas and they would love to meet you!
SG School Council meeting in F16 (English Room) Monday 10th October 1.20pm - 2.05pm - Light sandwich lunch will be provided.

DRAMA NEWS
Juniors
LAMDA
All year 3 girls have presented themselves on stage without their text and presented the first three lines of by heart - most impressive. Now they are looking at the next three lines in progressing their speeches for LAMDA - Good Luck.
Juniors Christmas Production
We are now in full swing of rehearsals, the opening sequence is looking mystical and stylized, please remember your scripts and a pencil in order to jot down any changes. Girls need to learn their lines over half term in preparation for full afternoon rehearsals.
Juniors Drama Clubs
Final reminder - all girls must have school drama blacks to participate in this activity.
Seniors November Production
Girls must bring in white ankle socks and black jazz shoes or black pumps for next Wednesday's rehearsal.
