We Will Get Through This
We're Going to Take Care of Our Students
TCS Daily Update
Superintendent Mike Daria explains the TCS priorities for the next two weeks.
This week, the Tuscaloosa City Schools unveiled its Instructional Continuity Plan to help families keep students engaged during the state-mandated closure. The plan calls for students to review, reinforce and practice material learned prior to spring break. Materials are provided for those with and without internet access and a device. More than 300 families requested paper copies of the materials on Monday, the first day it was offered.
Meanwhile, families supported the learning at home by finding other engagement opportunities during the time away from the classroom. Share what you and your family are doing during the closure and it may be featured on TCS social media accounts, like Kaylee who built a robot with her dad at home!
Serving Others
Teachers, administrators and child nutrition program employees spent Monday serving students...meals! On the first day of TCS meal distribution, more than 1500 meals were served by teachers seeking to provide a familiar face during this uncertain time.
Tuesday's menu includes hamburgers at the 10 TCS locations, starting at 11 a.m.
Staying Connected
During this closure, only essential personnel are in our schools and offices; however, we remain committed to being open to serve our students and families. If you have a question, concern, or need that requires a response during the two week closure, we have two primary ways to contact us. Visit our website at tuscaloosacityschools.com and submit a “Let’s Talk” form which can be found on the system home page or by clicking the image above.
