This Week's Math Instructional Focus
Our math focus for the second week of school will be on the Instructional Block. Each mathematics classroom should have routines set in place and a lesson flow that will allow students an opportunity to engage and problem solve in their mathematics classrooms. The first six weeks will allow us to explore Place Value and Addition/Subtraction in K - 5. Let's ensure that we are all working to set the foundation for our students.
This week's Science focus
We need to help excite students in all aspects of STEM. It is important that we set the expectations for a safe learning environment. Students should walk a way in 5th Grade being able to classify matter (5.5A). Our focus for the second week of school will be on theInstructional Block. Science lessons should be well thought out and planned for our students to investigate and become curious about the world around them.
This week's RLA focus
Our focus for this week is guided reading and small group instruction. Establishing Daily 5 routines, stations and centers. Following our instructional block. There should be a minimal of 5 words added to the word wall per week. At this point you should have a minimal of 5 words on the word wall.
