A Message From Principal Dolan
Dear MPE Families,
We were very busy learning and celebrating this week. Our third graders successfully took the NJSLA. On Wednesday, we enjoyed a Hip Hop Assembly. We want to thank the MPE PTA for this wonderful opportunity. Please ask your children about the performance. Teachers and students performed on stage. We even posted a video on Twitter!
Also, on Wednesday, we were able to celebrate our diversity at our Multicultural Night. Special thanks to the children and teachers for creating informative trifolds and to the MCN PTA committee for all of their hours of planning and preparations. We are so so proud of all of our students who performed at MCN in honor of their heritages. It was my first one that had performances and I was super impressed.
We couldn't let this week go by without thanking Mrs. Cullen for being the most dedicated, caring school nurse! We honored her on Wednesday with flowers, lunch and gift cards.
The Parent's Night Out was a lot of fun! Thanks to the committee for a successful evening full of great conversations and auctions! Dr. Vasto was a big winner!!
Kindergarten registration in under way. As you know, Livingston has soft borders. Once schools are determined, we will email our families about upcoming Orientation and K-screenings. (Dates below)
Also, we really value your input. As we create class lists for next year, we ask for your input.
Please complete the form.
Thank you to our students for working so hard, treating each other well and trying their best every day! I am very proud of the MPE Lions!
Have a great weekend,
Dr. Dolan

The Principles of Hip Hop: Peace, Love, Unity and Having Fun
MPE students were treated to an awesome assembly on Wednesday, May 11. The goal of the assembly was to inspire positive change in young people through an exploration of the roots of hip hop culture. This ensemble of dynamic and energetic dancers used breakdancing and abundant audience participation to explore hip hop’s rich cultural history and how underserved inner-city youth changed the world. The performance focuses on youth empowerment, diversity, creativity, and working together, embodied by hip hop’s four principles: Peace, Love, Unity, and Having Fun!
