Gun Control Laws
Guns don't cause crimes, guns make crimes more lethal
Guns can produce unmeasurable deaths in America
Between 1999 and 2013, guns was the dominant causation of homicide at 66.6% (ProCon). Approximately, 200 Americans go to emergency rooms per day with a gunshot wound (ProCon).
America has numerous guns per capita than any country in the world
In 2007, Finland had 23 gun homicides occur and 172 gun suicides (ProCon). In the same year, the United States had 12,632 gun homicides and 17,352 gun suicides (ProCon). If our government enforces stricter gun laws than the death rates from guns will decrease. As the years go on, gun suicide rates have increased.
Guns with felonists
40% gun sales in the United States occur without any background check (Everitt). Likewise, between the years 2005 and 2010, 1.5 million guns have been stolen from homes (ProCon).
The wrong type of people get their hands on the guns illegally and commit felonies while using them.
The poll above represents that 55% of the United States population is in favor of stricter gun control laws.
