VERY IMPORTANT - Check Your PA Teaching Certificate Status and Act 48 Hours
It is very important that you check the status of your Act 48 hours. It is the responsibility of the employee to complete their hours on time per PDE requirements.

Teacher Certification - Level II
It is the employee's responsibility to make sure their teaching certificate is current and up to date with Sue Keogh, Human Resources Associate.
Pennsylvania currently has two levels of certification. The initial certificate, Level I, is valid for a specific number of service years, during which time you must complete established requirements. Upon completion of those requirements, the Level I may be converted to a Level II certificate. If not converted, the Level I lapses. You cannot be employed in a Pennsylvania public school with a lapsed certificate. For additional information, please visit PDE’s website at https://www.education.pa.gov/Educators/Certification/CertFAQs/Pages/LevelII.aspx
After completing at least three years of teaching, earning 24 credits past your bachelor’s degree and completing a state approved Induction program, individuals must submit an online application for their Level II through TIMS on the PDE website: TIMS. The following link will take you to the Level II application: https://www.education.pa.gov/Educators/Certification/CertFAQs/Pages/LevelII.aspx
You can reach the Bureau of School Leadership and Teacher Quality at 717-PA-TEACH (728-3224) or 717-787-3356 or by clicking Chat with certification staff.
PDE Certification Staff are available for Phone and Chat on: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm
If you have a question outside these hours, send an email to ra-edcertquestions@pa.gov and be sure to include the following:
- Your name
- Your PPID number or your date of birth
- If your question is related to a specific application, please include the Application ID

Palisades School Board Policy #104: Discrimination/Title IX Sexual Harassment Affecting Staff
The Board also declares it to be the policy of this district to comply with federal law and regulations under Title IX prohibiting sexual harassment, which is a form of unlawful discrimination on the basis of sex. Such discrimination shall be referred to throughout this policy as Title IX sexual harassment. Inquiries regarding the application of Title IX to the district may be referred to the Title IX Coordinator, to the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights of the U.S. Department of Education, or both.
The Board encourages employees and third parties who believe they or others have been subject to Title IX sexual harassment, other discrimination or retaliation to promptly report such incidents to the building principal or building administrator. A person who is not an intended victim or target of discrimination but is adversely affected by the offensive conduct may file a report of discrimination.
