Voices and Votes - Faces of Change in American Democracy
This learning lab from the Smithsonian introduces students to individuals who have shaped and participated in American democracy over time. Using a variety of resources, take in the stories and impact of Thomas Jefferson, Molly Pitcher, Thomas Paine, Richard Allen, William Apess, Wong Chin Foo, Alice Paul, Ella Baker, and Dolores Huerta.
Zoom Author Visit: Rethinking Thanksgiving
Award-winning authors Kate Messner and Traci Sorell offer a thought-provoking author visit based on their books about the real history of the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag people, the myth of the "First Thanksgiving," and modern-day Native traditions of gratitude. The webinar will be recorded, and a video replay will be made available for those who cannot attend live. This webinar is designed for readers in grades 3-7.
