New Wednesday's Schedule - REMINDER

This is a reminder that we will have an evolving Wednesday Schedule giving students the opportunity to come into school to take the State assessments, or to participate in activities in small groups. This schedule is NOT complete, but I am sending it out weekly so you can see what has been scheduled up to this point. I will continue to send this schedule out in my Friday newsletter. As the weeks progress, you will see activities and events added with more detail. So remember this schedule is not complete and will evolve each week. You can email me anytime with questions.

Additionally, for the 3rd - 5th Graders who are scheduled to come in for the State testing on Wednesdays, those families should have receive an email with a form to fill out rsvping that their child(ren) is/are participating in the assessment this week. I sent the form today at noon so check to make sure you received it. Please be sure to fill out the rsvp form if your child(ren) will be coming to school this Wednesday. The deadline to fill it out is Monday, April 5th by 5:00 pm.

Reminder About Attendance Policy Changes After Spring Break . . . . .

In April all students will begin attending school four days per week either in-person only or remote only and because of that, attendance will fall back to the traditional procedures. If an in-person student does not come to school, they will be marked absent. They will not participate in remote learning. They will rest and get well and come back to school when healthy. If a child goes on vacation they will not participate in remote learning. They will be marked absent and upon return, they can make up any work that the teacher feels is most important to their learning. We expect all our in-person only students to be present at school and there is no option to switch to remote for any reason except to return to the remote only learning model for the remainder of the school year. Remote only students will be the only students permitted to use the google meets to participate in class and activities in school.

Be sure when your child is going to be absent to call the attendance line at (630) 827-4041. This ie extremely important for student safety. We need to know our panthers are at home under adult supervision.

Park View Heritage Week - April 12th - April 16th

One very special tradition at Park View is Heritage Night. We have always emphasized the importance of sharing and celebrating our family heritage with our school community. Although we cannot have our traditional Heritage Night, the PTA has worked hard to continue this tradition by creating a Heritage Week of celebration starting April 12th and running through April 16th. It is amazing how the Heritage Committee found new activities to honor that spirit of celebration. The two flyers below explain opportunities students will have to celebrate their heritage with their classmates and opportunities families will have to engage in celebrating their own family heritage. It is so important for students to learn about their personal histories and the histories of others. I hope you will all join in on these activities during our Heritage Week. Here is a preview:
