Leadership Message

This week we begin our Lenten journeys. Lent is a time to pray, to ask for forgiveness, and to share what we have with others. For forty days, we prepare for the new life of Easter. By asking Jesus to show us the way, we can become more loving, caring, compassionate, and forgiving. Through prayer, fasting, and sacrifice our hearts can fill with the joy and love of God.

You are not required to submit a new registration form if you are returning to St. John XXIII or moving to St. John Paul II next year.

How To Mark Your Child's Absence in School Messenger

**REPORTING ABSENCES** Very Important for our tracking of health and safety for our school

HOW TO MARK YOUR CHILD'S ABSENCE IN SCHOOL MESSENGER

  1. FLU - illness due to flu and cold like symptoms
  2. Other Illness or Injury - if they are experiencing symptoms that you do not deem to be flu or cold like, or your child has a medical appointment.
  3. Parent Excused - if your child is experiencing no illness/symptoms at all, please choose this. The parent excused absence should only be chosen if you are keeping your child home for a reason that does not pertain to a medical issue. (i.e dance competition)

FinS- Fish In School Program

Here is the update from our grade 3classes:

The school trout are now in the Fry stage of their life cycle. We have let them out of the incubation basket and they can swim around the whole tank. They get fed a small amount of food twice per day.

Grade 4 Zoom with Edmonton Oilers Trainer

Our grade 4 classes enjoyed a visit with the Edmonton Oilers Trainer on Zoom this week. He showed them the exercises he does with the players. They learned how to take their resting and active heart rates and looked at how their heart rate changes depending on the type and intensity of exercise they performed. Such a great experience.
